Questions to ask you builder before hiring them.

How long will the project take?

The answer to this will depend on the size and scope of your house, but the builder should be able to confidently give you an approximate time-frame. Our process involves developing a construction phase program of works, each of these phases will have a specific time frame often represented in weeks. This will allow us to show you an estimated time span for the known specification prior to construction. We will be able to help you identify potential problem areas that will affect the final completion, however it is always difficult to predict the final outcome.

What needs to happen before the project gets underway?

It is prudent to allow 4 weeks to deal with all the health and safety paperwork and to make sure all method statements are in place. Other forms such as F10's need to be dispatched to HSC. The principal contractor will more than likely take on the clients role to alleviate any pitfalls they may encounter to ensure that delays in getting a project started may be reduced.

How will you manage the quality control of our home throughout the project?

Your builder should have a process in place to ensure the quality of your project. For example Newman Moore team regularly meets with clients to discuss the work done, every four weeks we will meet with you and using a set agenda we sign off the stages with both the client and building teams input. This allows us to identify any issues that may have presented and ensure you are always up to date with the progress of your project.

Do you provide a warranty?

YES we are a fully registered and accredited NHBC Builder. To be part of this we have had to show and continue to prove that we take pride in our work and follow high industry technical standards in house building set out by the NHBC. Only builders and developers who can demonstrate financial security and technical competence are allowed to join the register.

Each new home that is sold with NHBC Buildmark cover is checked by an NHBC technical expert at key stages during the build, from foundations to final completion. So even before you are handed the keys, we will have done our best to make sure your home has been built to a high standard and ready for you to move into. -

NHBC Buildmark is a 10 year new home warranty and insurance policy for new build homes.
